How This Rug Lives
This page exists to offer clarity — not reassurance, not persuasion.
RUH RUG rugs are not designed to perform. They are made to live.
What You Are Buying
You are buying ground — not décor. A RUH RUG is:
- Woven by hand, free-hand — not plotted on machines
- Asymmetrical by nature, not by design choice
- Made from undyed, natural fibres
- Finished with raw or lightly bound edges
- Intended to change with time and use
No two rugs are identical. That is not variation. That is the work itself.
On Day One
When your rug arrives, it may:
- Sit unevenly for a few days as natural wool settles
- Show slight waviness from folding during transport
- Feel firmer than expected before use softens it
- Appear lighter or darker than photographs
This is normal. The rug finds the floor. Allow time. Do not force perfection.
Over Time
With living, the rug will:
- Soften underfoot as fibres relax
- Compress in areas where you walk or sit
- Darken subtly with use and light
- Show patina — not wear, but memory
Edges may relax. Lines may drift. This is not damage. This is how natural materials age honestly.
On Imperfection
Irregular edges are evidence of handcraft, not defects. Human hands cannot replicate machine precision, and we do not try to. If you need exact symmetry, exact colour matching, or a rug that looks the same in ten years as it does today — RUH RUG may not be the right choice for you. We say this with respect, not reluctance.
Repair and Longevity
We offer lifetime repair service for structural damage. Objects made by hand should be mendable by hand. Contact us for assessment. A RUH RUG is not a purchase. It is a companion.
