Cleaning
Before a thread can carry remembrance, it must be made pure. In this stage, the chosen wool meets water — not laced with harsh chemicals, but drawn and poured with care. The hands that wash it are not simply removing dust; they are honoring a trust.
For Ruh Rug, cleaning is more than a step in production. It is a ritual of renewal. Each handful is pressed, turned, and rinsed as if preparing it for prayer. The water moves through the fibers, loosening what does not belong, while the wool retains the softness and life it was created with.
No synthetic shortcuts are used here. Just as the Qur’an speaks of water as a source of purity and mercy, we let it do what it was designed to do — cleanse without harm.
“And We sent down pure water from the sky, bringing forth thereby gardens and grain for harvest…”
(Qur’an 50:9)
This is the moment when the fleece, still carrying the warmth of the sheep, begins to take on the clarity needed for its sacred purpose. Clean, natural, and untouched by anything artificial — so that when your rug reaches you, every step upon it begins on a foundation of purity.
